Although he has released three albums and numerous singles, E-Dee is determined to break new ground in 2025. He believes blending different sounds for his songs is a winning formula.
‘Water Run’, his latest single, fuses a ‘90s dancehall flavor with Afrobeats, the trendy sound out of West Africa. E-Dee co-produced the song with Jahsee.
“In 2025, I’m focused on elevating my sound and reaching a wider audience. I want to push the boundaries of dancehall by blending it with new influences while staying true to its roots,” he said. “Whether it’s dropping a major project, collaborating with international artists, or performing on bigger stages, my goal is to make a lasting impact and bring fresh energy to the genre.”
‘Water Run’ is one of several singles on the LA Champ beat. Ginjah, Dilgin and Dizzle JA are some of the other acts on the project which came out in late March.
The lanky E-Dee is part of Los Angeles’ tight-knit Jamaican entertainment community. He is originally from rural Clarendon parish but has called the City of Angels home for 20 years.
In addition to his music career, E-Dee has made a name in acting. He has appeared in movies such as ‘Out the Gate’, which is based on his life; ‘Gangland The Musical’, ‘Chocolate City 3’ and ‘Mother in Law’.
