Many people consider a cancer diagnosis a death sentence. Not so for Dizzle JA who has released a defiant song about his fight with the killer disease. ‘F..k Cancer’ is the name of the self-produced track which was released this month by his La-Fam Entertainment JA company.
After experiencing months of severe pain, Dizzle JA was diagnosed with an “aggressive form of blood cancer”. Unlike most people, he was not devastated by the news.
“When the doctor told me the news, it didn’t move me as I was ready for anything because the Creator already told me that I needed a full body cleansing which I used to do going home to Jamaica, because the food in the US is poison,” he said.
The deejay, who is from St. Thomas parish in eastern Jamaica, underwent weeks of chemotherapy. He also changed his diet and has pursued a strenuous exercise regimen. Dizzle JA then wrote ‘F..k Cancer’, a middle finger to a disease that kills thousands of people annually.
“The song just came as a motivation to my family and famz, aka my fans, just letting them know I am a fighter and I’ll be fighting this cancer, and they need to be strong with me,” he said.
With the support of his management, Dizzle JA participated in a Cancer Awareness Walk two months ago at Venice Beach in Los Angeles, where he is based. He is scheduled to partake in similar events in the near future.
