Chrisco G Ready to Take the World by Storm

Christopher Morais Grant, known in the dancehall scene as Chrisco G, has been making waves from his roots in Portland, Jamaica, to the vibrant dancehall community of Toronto, Canada. Born on June 1, 1973, Chrisco G’s journey through music began when he was just a teen, and it’s a journey that shows no sign of slowing down.

Growing up in the scenic parish of Portland, Jamaica, Chrisco G found his passion for music early in life. As a young teen, he began showcasing his talent at local stage shows. His commanding stage presence, coupled with a voice that captivated audiences, helped him carve out a name for himself in his community. The crowds couldn’t help but be drawn to his unique blend of relatable lyrics and a dancehall sound that was entirely his own. It wasn’t long before the name Chrisco G started to generate buzz.

His breakthrough came with his first track, “Kangaroo.” This song proved to be a pivotal moment in his career, earning him his first radio play on Jamaica’s renowned Irie FM thanks to the support of iconic DJs Big A and GT Taylor. The success of “Kangaroo” gave Chrisco G the exposure he needed, landing him performances on some of Jamaica’s major stages. His growing fanbase and credibility were proof that he was ready to take on bigger opportunities.

Migrating to Canada didn’t slow him down. In fact, it expanded his horizons. Chrisco G’s first stage performance after relocating caught the attention of a local producer, Rocky Entertainment, who saw potential in the artist. This chance meeting resulted in his first Canadian recording, “The Dot,” a tribute to Jamaica’s beauty and rich culture.

With the support of veteran music influencer King Ujah, who took Chrisco G under his wing, the artist began to solidify his place in Toronto’s growing dancehall scene. DJ Scabba G further boosted his presence by giving him his first radio play in Canada, and renowned producer Faze also played a vital role in shaping Chrisco G’s career during this time.

Chrisco G’s musical journey has come full circle as he now collaborates with his son, D’maestro Beatz, a talented producer in his own right. Together, the father-son duo is setting the dancehall scene ablaze with their latest track, “Nuh Si Mi.” The song has been gaining momentum both in Canada and back in Jamaica, with its infectious rhythms and powerful lyrics resonating with audiences on both sides of the Atlantic.

Though Chrisco G remains humble and soft-spoken off stage, his music speaks volumes. With decades of experience, a unique sound, and a strong support system behind him, Chrisco G is poised to take the global stage by storm. Whether you’re in Canada, Jamaica, or anywhere else, keep an ear out—Chrisco G is just getting started.
