A patriot at heart, Causion wears his love for Antigua on his sleeve. In the last five years, the reggae singer has worked with tourism interests in that country to promote the leisure industry, which drives its economy.
Their latest collaboration is ‘Feels Like I’m Dreaming’, a reggae song Causion co-wrote and co-produced with Maurice Gregory, with whom he worked in a similar capacity on previous tracks.
Released on June 1, ‘Feels Like I’m Dreaming’ is his fifth project with Elite Islands Resorts, a company that markets Antigua and sister island Barbuda as a tourist destination. ‘Antigua me Come From’, ‘Caribbean Vacation’, ‘Sunny Day’ and ‘Tropical State of Mind’ are Causion’s previous songs used in the country’s marketing campaign.
“Working with Elite Island Resorts has allowed me to do something rare: use music to tell an authentic story about a place, and watch that story reach people across the world who then book a flight and come experience it themselves,” said Causion. “That’s not marketing. That’s music doing what it’s always done — moving people. And when it moves them all the way to Antigua, that’s deeply satisfying. This island gave me everything. Being part of the team that introduces it to the world feels like paying that back.”
In May, he filmed a video for ‘Feels Like I’m Dreaming’ in Antigua. Produced by Elite Islands Resorts, it will be released during the summer.
Causion, who lives in South Florida, has released several albums and EPs. He is Antigua’s official Reggae Ambassador.
In November 2024, he was awarded the Commander of The Most Precious Order of Princely Heritage (CH), Antigua and Barbuda’s fourth-highest honor.
