Having released his second album in February, singer/producer Kenne Blessin returns with two new projects. They are a cover of Elton John’s ‘Nikita’ and ‘Blue Flame Riddim’, a four-song EP, both released in September.
According to the Atlanta-based artist, he was introduced to ‘Nikita’ by “always listening to the classics.” He put a reggae spin on the song which was a big hit for Elton John in 1985.
For ‘Blue Flame Riddim’, he contributed ‘God is My Strength’. He co-produced the EP for his Dacosta Music with Malvo Ent, a company owned by singer Anthony Malvo.
Malvo, best known for the 1987 hit single ‘Come Back to Me’ (with Tiger) contributes ‘Watch da Girl Deh’ to the ‘Blue Flame Riddim’. ‘How I’m Living’ by veteran singjay Delly Ranx and ‘Big Man Cry’ by Antiguan Fucha Kid, are the other songs on the EP.
Born in Kingston and raised in St. Thomas parish, eastern Jamaica, Kenne Blessin released his second album, ‘Caught my Attention’, seven months ago. ‘Get Up & Go’, his first album, came out in 2018. ‘Millions’, his solo EP, was released in 2020.
