Ammoye Brings Her Soul Rebel Reggae to the US From Lincoln Center to the West Coast

Canada’s reggae powerhouse Ammoye—known offstage as Shernette Amoy Evans—has officially launched her highly anticipated United States tour, bringing her genre-defying sound and radiant energy to audiences across the country.

A seven-time Juno Award nominee for Reggae Recording of the Year, Ammoye is no stranger to acclaim. But this latest chapter marks a major new milestone for the “soul rebel” as she shares her unique brand of future-forward reggae—infused with rocksteady, dancehall, dubstep, gospel, and R&B—with American fans.

The tour kicked off Thursday, July 31st, with a high-energy headlining performance at Lincoln Center in New York City. The venue was packed to capacity, with a crowd that was not only on their feet by the end of the show but singing along, cheering, and calling for an encore. Ammoye delivered a powerful and engaging set that left a lasting impression on the audience—and on the Lincoln Center itself.

Following the performance, Godfrey Palaia, Senior Manager of Artistic Programming at Lincoln Center, praised Ammoye and her band, declaring, “We will for sure be having you and the band back to perform at the center at one of our other performance stages around the city!” The night marked not only Ammoye’s Lincoln Center debut but also served as a celebration of her soon to be released third solo LP, ‘The Shift’—a deeply personal project centered on themes of alignment, transformation, and inner growth.

As Ammoye’s lyrics continue to spread messages of love, unity, compassion, and social justice, her live performances are equally uplifting offering more than just entertainment but also healing and inspiration.

What’s Next on the U.S. Tour: Wisconsin. On Thursday, August 7th, Ammoye will headline the Levitt AMP Sheboygan Music Series, promising another unforgettable evening of rhythm and soul under the summer sky.

From there, Ammoye will take her vibrant sounds westward, with a series of shows lined up in Los Angeles, California, and Las Vegas, Nevada. Full tour dates and venues are expected to be announced soon.

Fans of conscious music, reggae innovation, and unforgettable live performances won’t want to miss the chance to experience Ammoye’s voice, vision, and vibe firsthand as she continues to rise as one of Canadian reggae’s most exciting voices—and perhaps its next global breakout star.
