Roots singer Zamunda began 2024 with renewed focus and a determination to take his career to new plateaus. He has a new song out and recently linked with Garfield Cowan of Natures Way Entertainment as an advisor.
Cowan, who has worked with a number of acts including Busy Signal, Jah Cure and Wayne Wonder, has big plans for the artist. “I have known Zamunda for 14 years-plus and intend to enhance his career by constantly promoting and supporting the movement in every area from advising, production merchandising, and managing,” he said.
Zamunda and Cowan are from St. Ann parish in northeastern Jamaica. At the time of their first meeting, Zamunda was an aspiring artist recording for regional producers.
Last year saw the release of ‘Jah Love Surround Me’, his second album which has collaborations with a number of artists including Louie Culture, Jah Cure, Capleton and Popcaan.
That set contains ‘Jah Love Remix’ with Popcaan and Dre Island. The original version was a big hit in 2021.
For his latest song, a cover of Sonny and Cher’s ‘I Got You Babe’, Zamunda teams with Macka Diamond. “The things that make Zamunda special as an artist and a person is his unique style of singing, songwriting and fashion. Also, the interest he puts in his music career; I admire that and support that,” said Cowan, who has managed acts such as King Mas.
