‘Conquest’, an EP by Jamaican gospel artist Prince Saj, was released in December. It contains eight songs, delivered in the deejay style that has made him a rising star in Jamaica.
Produced by Toronto-based DaJourney Production, ‘Conquest’ contains songs such as ‘Alpha and Omega’, ‘The Message’ and ‘God with Us’, a collaboration with DaJourney.
Prince Saj, who turned his back on secular music three years ago when he converted to Christianity, said ‘Conquest’ is the biggest achievement of his career to date.
“To know that God has seen it fit to bless me with the opportunity to release an EP is an ecstatic feeling. I’m beyond happy and I’m immensely grateful that my first-ever EP has been released for the world to listen and hear the Biblical messages that each song brings,” he said.
The lanky toaster is from St. Catherine parish in rural Jamaica. Since his conversion to Christianity, he has recorded a number of songs with DaJourney, a leading light in Canadian reggae-gospel circles.
Their association produced a clutch of songs prior to production on ‘Conquest’. DaJourney produced Prince Saj’s ‘Greatness’ and ‘Godly Woman’ and collaborated with him on ‘Overcome’.
Prince Saj has been knocking at the door for some time. In December 2021, he was first runner-up in the Magnum Top Performa talent competition in Jamaica; last year, he was awarded Breakout Sensation of The Year at the Sterling Gospel Music Awards.
