Addis Pablo is one of the artists featured on a compilation album produced by Bob “Bob Riddim” Bouchard, a stalwart of the Montreal reggae scene. It also features other roots-reggae acts from Jamaica.
The yet-titled project, which is expected to be released in early 2027, has already produced one single. That is ‘Musical High’, a collaboration between Addis and Chezidek.
Also contributing to the album are veteran singer Mark Wonder, Micah Shemaiah and Marlon Brown. The vocal tracks are accompanied by dub versions.
It is the latest partnership with Bob Riddim, a Grammy and JUNO-nominated producer, and Jamaican artists. He has worked with the neo-roots movement’s biggest acts including Kabaka Pyramid and Yaadcore, as well as veterans like Anthony B and Turbulence.
The son of dub visionary Augustus Pablo, Addis Pablo followed his father’s footsteps into the music business. He has released an album, an EP, and numerous singles.
The New Jersey-born Addis has toured Europe, the United States and Mexico. He is proprietor of the renovated Rockers record store in downtown Kingston, Jamaica. His father, who died in 1999, opened that location during the 1970s which was the peak period for roots-reggae.
One of Bob Riddim’s biggest projects is ‘Destiny’, the final studio album by Lee “Scratch” Perry. He produced that set which was released in 2023, two years after the legendary producer/artist died.
Distributed by American company, Delicious Vinyl, ‘Destiny’ heard Perry collaborating with acts like Kabaka Pyramid, Evie Pukupoo and Xana Romeo, daughter of Max Romeo.
