Over the years, Honorebel has experimented with different sounds — from hip hop, to EDM and dancehall. But for ‘Winner Circle’, his latest album, he goes straight reggae.
The album is scheduled for release on September 4, his birthday.
“Reggae has always been in my DNA. Growing up in Jamaica, it’s the foundation of who I am as an artist. Even while having success in dancehall, pop, hip hop, and electronic music, the goal of creating a true reggae project never left me,” said Honorebel.
‘Winner Circle’ is his 14th album. It hits the market two years after ‘Energy Surge’, his previous album. Both are produced by Honorebel’s Phantom Music Group.
He does several collaborations on ‘Winner Circle’, including with Big Mountain, Etana, Glen Washington and Nyanda of Brick and Lace. The South Florida-based artist knows the importance of working with other artists. His biggest hit song is ‘Now You See It (Shake That Ass’), a collaboration with Pitbull and house music trio Jump Smokers. That track made the Billboard Magazine dance charts in 2010.
Patience is one of the main ingredients in ‘Winner Circle’.
“This album took years because I wanted it to be authentic, not rushed. I waited until the music, message, and timing aligned so I could properly tell my story through the genre that raised me,” Honorebel noted. “I recorded 35 songs across multiple genres during the creation of this album, and the entire process took nearly two years. It was a journey that allowed me to experiment creatively while staying true to the vision behind ‘Winner Circle’.”
