Worship And Praise’, the new album from Keithus I, is scheduled for release on May 8. It will be released through the roots singer’s Jahdynasty Production company.
The Connecticut-based artist co-produced the nine-song set with Delroy “Fatta” Pottinger. Three tracks have been released — the title song, ‘Faith’ and ‘His Will’.
‘Worship And Praise’ is Keithus I’s sixth album, and his first since ‘Truth is The Way’ which came out in 2022. It has two songs by Fred Locks and Teddy Dan.
Like his previous work, ‘Worship And Praise’ is inspired by current affairs. “There is a global vibration of awakening to truth and spiritual reality. We as a people need to pay attention to all that is going on in the world and prepare our thoughts and minds to be more loving and kind to each other,” he reasoned.
Helping to get his message across are some of reggae’s leading musicians. They include guitarists Mitchum “Khan” Chin, Paul “Wrong Move” Crosdale and bassist Donald “Danny Bassie” Dennis of The Firehouse Crew; keyboardists Robbie Lyn and Franklyn “Bubbler” Waul, drummers Kirk Bennett and Mark Dawson, bassist Flabba Holt and percussionist Hector Lewis.
Leba Hibbert and Althea Hewitt provide supporting vocals.
Keithus I is from Kingston, Jamaica’s capital. He began recording music in 1975; ‘Then And Now’, his first album, was released in 2012.
