As an artist, Traz Di Jennik is always looking to reach new fans with exciting songs. Which is exactly what inspired ‘Party Hot Girlz’, his latest single which he co-produced with his wife Lydia Campbell and Trevor “Skatta” Bonnick.
As its title suggests, the track is geared at getting the young and young at heart on the dancefloor. Bonnick, whom he has known since the early 1990s, was on board with that approach and they immediately began crafting what became ‘Party Hot Girlz’.
It took them back to that era when they were part of the Main Street Crew in Kingston. That group was led by musician/producer Danny Browne, who made dance-friendly songs with acts like Junior Tucker, General Degree, Red Rat and Hawkeye. With ‘Party Hot Girlz’, Traz Di Jennik’s objective is clear.
“I absolutely know that the need for more of this type of music will bring back the fun to dancehall,” he said.
Bonnick — lead singer of the Inner Circle band — has been a musical mentor to Traz Di Jennik since the days when he was known as Alcatraz. They have continued to collaborate in recent years, working on songs like ‘Party Nice’, his first soca single, which was released in 2023.
In 2024, Traz Di Jennik showed his versatility by releasing ‘Stop di Crime’, a song that bemoaned the frightening crime rate in Jamaica.
