Emerging artist Indiyah Rye is back with a powerful new single titled ‘So Simple’ — a heartfelt track that peels back the layers of love, heartbreak, and emotional healing. With her signature fusion of R&B and new-age dancehall, Indiyah delivers a message that’s both deeply personal and universally relatable.
Inspired by the emotional rollercoaster of toxic relationships, ‘So Simple’ reminds listeners that true love should never be complicated or draining. “The song states that love is supposed to be simple,” Indiyah explains. “Real love shouldn’t be toxic and exhausting — it should feel safe and reassuring.”
Written and produced entirely by the artist herself, the single captures Indiyah’s vulnerability and strength, as she transforms personal pain into an empowering anthem for women who’ve experienced similar struggles.
Musically, “So Simple” marks a new chapter for Indiyah. While her earlier releases leaned more toward Afro-inspired styles, this single blend R&B smoothness with a new-age dancehall groove. “This song is different from my previous releases,” she shares. “I wanted to experiment with sound while keeping my message clear and authentic. I used cleaner lyrics to really connect emotionally with my listeners.”
Despite the fresh sonic direction, Indiyah stays true to her Caribbean roots. “I always keep my authentic Caribbean sound alive by using my accent and island slang,” she says. “Even when I mix genres, that part of me never changes.”
Unlike many of her peers, Indiyah worked completely solo on “So Simple,” handling both songwriting and production. The process, she says, was as much about self-expression as it was about self-reliance. “Everything you hear on this track is me — my voice, my emotions, my experiences. It’s one hundred percent authentic.”
Her journey as a female artist hasn’t been without challenges. “Sometimes, working with engineers can be frustrating,” Indiyah admits. “They often assume women don’t understand the technical side of music, and that can lead to less effort or respect. But I’ve learned to push through and stand my ground creatively.”
With “So Simple” paving the way, Indiyah plans to release several more singles over the next year, all part of her mission to grow her fanbase and strengthen her brand as an artist. “I’m working on better promotion, and I can definitely see myself performing more around the city,” she says. “My goal is to have that breakthrough song that takes me to an international level.”
And if given the chance to collaborate on that dream track, her top choice is none other than Rvssian, one of Jamaica’s most respected producers. “He’s incredibly talented,” Indiyah says. “I know he could take my music to the next level.”
Through “So Simple,” Indiyah Rye continues to carve her space in the global music scene — bringing together Caribbean rhythm, emotional honesty, and feminine empowerment. Her sound is magnetic, her message clear: love doesn’t have to hurt, and music doesn’t have to fit one mold.
