Few artists manage to blend deep lyrical consciousness with infectious rhythms quite like Zantelly. A rising star rooted in the cultural richness of Jamaica and now blossoming in Canada, Zantelly is carving a path that bridges generations and borders with his signature blend of Afro-Caribbean energy and thought-provoking lyricism.
Born and raised in the coastal community of Drapers, located in Portland, Jamaica, Zantelly’s love for music was sparked early. It started on the street corners and community gatherings, where a young Zantelly would freestyle for his peers—already showing signs of a magnetic stage presence. At just 14 years old, he was winning local competitions, and soon after, began penning his own lyrics.
This early dedication to his craft has led to a dynamic career trajectory. Known for his lyrical depth and vibrant performances, Zantelly has graced stages from local festivals to national events, even performing for the Jamaican Minister of Parliament alongside reggae and dancehall icons like Josey Wales, Richie Spice, Govana, and Tommy Lee Sparta. These experiences helped refine his performance style and further fueled his passion for music that speaks to the soul.
Since relocating to Canada in 2019, Zantelly has embedded himself in the heart of the Montreal music scene. His collaborative spirit and cross-genre creativity have connected him with a wide range of artists, allowing him to expand his sound without losing the core essence of his message. Whether it’s Kompa, Soca, Afro-beat, Dancehall, or Reggae—Zantelly’s voice remains authentic, grounded, and inspiring.
His latest single, “Changes,” is a testament to his creativity—balancing rich reggae riddim with introspective and uplifting lyrics. The track has quickly gained traction, notably on Canadian reggae radio, and is now picking up steam internationally. It’s a song that speaks to transformation, personal growth, and societal awareness—all wrapped in an irresistible beat.
Zantelly’s ability to energize both youthful and mature audiences is evident in his diverse performance history. Highlights include headlining Jerk Fest 2023 in Ottawa and Toronto, captivating crowds at Montreal’s Canada Day and Jamaica Day 2024, opening for Jamaican artist Yaadcore in Montreal (October 2024), and starring in Rock & Groove Festival in February 2025.
But perhaps his most meaningful contribution to date is his new project titled “The Message.” A lyrical powerhouse, the album is an urgent call for upliftment and resilience, especially directed at the youth. With each track, Zantelly challenges listeners to embrace excellence in thought and action. It’s music that moves not just the body, but the mind and spirit.
As Zantelly continues to rise, one thing is clear: this is more than just music—this is a mission. A mission to inspire, to connect, and to create a rhythm for change.
