After years away from the spotlight, beloved reggae crooner Com4th—born Dave Vassell—is ready to reconnect with fans. On Saturday, April 19, the stage at JJ’s Bar and Lounge (2814 Lakeshore Blvd West) will come alive as Com4th hosts “A Night of Lovers Rock”, a long-awaited celebration of love, soul, and sweet reggae vibes.
The journey to this moment hasn’t been easy. In 2020, Com4th underwent heart surgery just as the world was shutting down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. What followed was a period of reflection, healing, and rediscovery. “It’s been a long road,” Com4th shares. “But now, I’m ready to give the fans a show they’ll never forget.”
Known for his silky vocals and seductive stage presence, Com4th rose to fame with hits like ‘Me and Mrs. Jones’ and ‘City Under Lockdown’. His performances have long left fans—especially female fans—swooning and swaying to his infectious energy.
Since 2024, he’s been keeping the groove alive, performing with the Ekaya Band across the Kitchener-Waterloo area. Now, he’s taking a bold step back into the Greater Toronto Area for his first major solo event since his recovery.
Joining him on stage are talented artists Mr. Zackious Cooper and Dahlia Brown, promising a diverse and soulful lineup. Backing the vocal performances will be the sensational Ekaya World Band, led by Gillie Genesis, with keyboard maestro Brenton Messado adding his magic to the mix.
“This show is not just about music—it’s about connection, celebration, and giving thanks,” Com4th says. “For all those who haven’t seen me perform in a while, I can’t wait to share this night with you.”
Doors open at 8 PM, and with tickets priced at just $20, it’s shaping up to be one of the most anticipated reggae nights of the season. Lovers rock fans, mark your calendars—Com4th is back, and he’s bringing the love with him.
